1 – Drink more fluids – Not just any fluids, water. Alcohol will actually further dehydrate you so be careful when you are in the sun. Do not wait till you are thirsty, by then you are already dehydrated.
2 – Avoid cold drinks as you may suffer from stomach cramps.
3 – Stay indoors during the heat of the day or at least cool your body.
4 – If you start to feel ill, take a cool shower or bath to lower your body temperature or get to a cooler area right away.
5 – Wear lightweight and light colored clothing
6 – Never stay or leave anyone in a car during the heat
7 – Wear sunscreen and apply it often. Also consider a hat and eye protection as well.
