About Costa Rica

Whether you enjoy sitting on exotic beaches, having jungle adventures, experiencing new cultures or hundreds of other activities and opportunities to explore, Costa Rica is a land of plenty. Located in Central America, Costa Rica is ranked as one of the most visited destinations in the world. Although Costa Rica is quite small, the rich diversity of the land is greater than that of many countries much larger in size making it a great destination for those who enjoy exploring the plants and animals in a region.

The climate of Costa Rica is generally considered pleasant throughout the year. Temperatures are generally in the 70s and 80s year round with definite wet and dry seasons. The rainy season generally runs from May to November with a dry season from December through April. From mountains to river valleys, from volcanic peaks to lush tropical rain forests, Costa Rica is an outdoor mecca, one of the finest in the world. Take the time to explore the worlds most amazing destinations and enjoy the world around you.

Know Before You Go

English is considered a second language to most in the country however, it is never a bad idea for you to know at least some Spanish as it is the primary language of the country.

Entry Requirements–

You must have a valid passport which does not expire within thirty days of your arrival to Costa Rica. Make sure your passport is in good shape is it can be denied by Costa Rican Immigration if it is in disrepair.

You must have a round trip ticket to enter the country.

Safety –

As with many countries in the region, currents are known to be strong, unpredictable and swift and there are very few beaches with lifeguards on duty. Make sure you swim in an area which has a lifeguard on duty for your own safety.

Though Costa Rica is considered quite safe, make sure you do not travel alone and pay attention to people around you when visiting all foreign countries. Use your common sense and help protect yourself when you travel.
