A small island in the Caribbean, Anguilla is well known for its beautiful white sand beaches, fine food, and friendly people. Located near to the island of St. Martin, Anguilla is a British Overseas territory which includes the island of Anguilla itself in addition to many small islands and cays with no permanent population. Part of the Lesser Antilles, Anguilla has roots dating back well over a thousand years ago to the first Amerindian tribes who migrated from South America. Early artifacts found on the island have dated back to around 1300 BC and the arrival of English Settlements in the 1400 or 1500’s.

A low laying island made of limestone and coral, Anguilla offers pleasant temperatures and sun most all year round. Known as the cuisine capital of the Caribbean, the dining is enough to keep you busy for days offering more than 70 different dining experiences from chic to roadside.
Getting Around On The Island
Although the island is just 16 miles long and 3 miles wide, renting a car is still the easiest way to see the sights. In order to do so, you must have your valid drivers license and will need to purchase a temporary Anguilla license upon arrival at your car agency. Of course, if you feel like being a bit more environmentally friendly, you can always choose to walk or bike your way around the island as well.
