Before you leave on your next vacation, consider the following tips and advice to help you avoid issues and complaints. Tradewinds Vacations welcomes you to review tips and advice on travel and travel complaints to help you make the most of your time and money when you travel.

Just the Facts

Entering A Foreign Country – Though you may believe that just having a passport is enough for getting into and out of foreign countries, you may be surprised if you are not aware of the specifics. Passports are valid for a specific period of time, ten and five years depending on the specific type of passport and age of the traveler. When traveling to countries outside of the United States, many of these countries will require not only a valid passport, but a passport which is valid from 3 to 6 months after the current date or date of departure depending on the destination. In addition, many countries may also require a certain number of blank visa pages as well in order to enter. Be sure that your passport is good for at least 6 additional months before you travel and that you have extra visa pages as well. You may also be turned away if your passport is damaged, so be sure it is in good repair as well.

Hotel Room Safes – While many people consider hotel room safes to be the safest place to store their important documents and extra money while traveling, many may be surprised how unsafe these safes actually are. Instead of leaving things like valuables up to chance, know the ways you can better be prepared and in cases such as this consider other safety measures.

Cell Phones – You may think you know the facts regarding your cell phone and charges associated with its use, but what if you are traveling by cruise ship? While you may be able to get cell service on the open ocean, you may be burdened with fees you may not even consider till it is too late. Consider using a disposable phone with prepaid phone cards instead to avoid being surprised too late.

Credit Cards – If you plan on using a credit card while traveling abroad, there are many issues you need to be aware of before you go to avoid problems and complaints later on. For example, many credit cards will let you use them outside the U.S. but will charge an international usage fee. Know the rules regarding using your card outside the U.S. before you use it. In addition, many countries are switching to a different protection system referred to as a chip and pin system. Unfortunately the U.S. is not using this and as such our cards may not work abroad.

It is your responsibility as an informed traveler to know what issues which may cause you problems when you are traveling. Become an informed traveler and know before you go to make the most of your vacations. Let Tradewinds Vacations be your source for all things travel and enjoy all your vacations.

Millions of people around the world will be traveling to thousands of popular destinations across the globe. These most popular destinations for travel will generally have peak travel seasons associated with them based on the weather and celebrations and festivals as well. While this may be enjoyable for some travelers, other travelers would prefer to avoid the throngs of gawking tourists and endless lines when they travel. A common complaint, there are some ways you can avoid this common complaint when you next travel. Do not change your destination to avoid overcrowding, change your way of thinking and make the most of your vacation with tips on travel from Tradewinds Travel Club reviews.

No where is this complaint more obvious than in the larger and more popular European cities such as the cities of Rome, Paris and London. To make your experience more authentic, here are some tips to help.

Try learning the language. Not only will the local people appreciate the fact that you have embraced their culture but you will find yourself having a much easier time getting around, saving money and communicating in general.

Stay in a smaller town. While you may want to see some of the more major sites, there is something to be said for visiting the lesser know sites in addition. Not only will this tend to cost you less money, but save you time and help you avoid standing for hours in a never ending line of whiny tourists.

Embrace the experience by eating where the locals eat. While you may need to be careful in some areas of the world, most are very safe as far as food preparation. Instead of eating at a restaurant you already know, instead try out the local cuisine and get to know a whole other side of the area.

Spend time with the locals. If there is a festival or event going on, find out moire about it and experience the local customs and traditions that make an area unique.

Avoid peak travel times. Visiting areas during school breaks and holidays including American summer break can make it much more difficult to avoid the crowds. If you have the chance, try visiting an area during the shoulder travel seasons or even the off season to enjoy a quieter, slower paced type of experience.
